Experience Theatre and Culture
The State of Oregon is a popular tourist hub because of its bustling city life and breathtaking nature reserves. Visit Oregon for rich history, world-class cuisine, art and entertainment and endless natural beauty. During your visit, stop by the Ross Ragland Theatre and Cultural Center.
Ross Ragland Theatre and Culture Center
A freshly renovated movie theatre from the1940’s, and re-opened in 1989, the Ross Ragland Theatre and Culture Center proves to be an influential hub of creativity. The venue has hosted a wide array of award-winning touring performance artists, as well as local productions. Stop by for one of the frequently offered special events, live music, dance or theatre performances. This month, the Theatre is proudly featuring The Wizard of Oz. Price ranges for tickets vary by event and seating. Season passes to the theatre are also available.
Musical talent this month features the Classical Series: professional pianist Andreas Klein, cellists and violinists in the Lincoln Trio, as well as more modern performances by Glenn Justus, Neil Diamond Tribute Band, Music and Mixers (where you can bring your dancing shoes), and the new thrilling installation of Murder Mystery and Dinner Theatre where the audience gets to play along with the cast to help solve a challenging mystery.
Supported by the Champions of Change Research, National Endowment of the Arts, the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies, the Council of Chief State School Officers and the U.S. Department of Education, children are involved in attaining higher levels of achievement by being involved in the arts programs provided at this facility. The Ross Ragland Theatre and Culture Center offers multiple youth education programs including theatre classes and workshops, day camps, curriculum-based matinees, educational pre-show lectures and residencies with professional artists.
After school and educational programs include Storybook Theatre for young children where classic favorites such as Dr. Seuss are introduced, and children are allowed to dress up and make props associated with the stories as well as classroom introductions to stage and theatre fundamentals and musical theatre. Classes like these are offered to a wider age range of children and teach them not only about acting techniques on-stage but introduce them to the hard work and creativity that occurs behind-the-scenes during productions as well.
The Ross Ragland Theatre and Culture Center is also happy to announce the debut of its High-Definition Digital Experience (RDX) by streaming events from all over the world for local viewing pleasure. Enjoy Ted Talks, Ballet, and Opera Performances, and live boxing championships to name a few. The Ross Ragland Theatre and Culture Center provides hours of enjoyment for the whole family.
